The three-storey building making extensive use of wood and glass is the result of an open international architectural competition, which received 544 entries from all around the world. Technical Details. Oodi’s spatial concept based on three individual public floors is executed by building the library as an inhabited, asymmetrical bridge spanning over 100 meters over the open ground floor space. The architectural competition for the Helsinki Central Library, held in 2012–13, received 544 entries from around the world.
